RATIONALE

The modern and observable trends in commerce and industry, education and technology sectors strongly point to the need to produce qualified personnel with concentrated, yet diverse competencies to meet the challenging and unstructured landscapes of human endeavours today.

AIM

To provide students with a robust and rigorous curriculum in management that advances their employability and imparts them with a balanced scale of management capabilities. On completion, students will have acquired the obligatory knowledge in critical areas of management that meet the demands and expectations of industry. Furthermore, this distinctive and state-of-the-art programme is projected to impart disparate management ingenuities that promote the development of a range of cognitive and social aptitudes and talents for the graduate.

 

OBJECTIVES

To equip graduates with the art of driving strategy execution and implementation, using acclaimed modern models and theories of management. Moreover, the programme aims to yield resilient graduates with dominant proficiencies and knowledge in the field of management. N completion the graduate should be able to competently undertake  a broad range of management assignments, functions and responsibilities in organizations, institutions or the corporate world of business, all constantly surrounded by fast changing environments and dynamics, today !

 

TARGET GROUP

This programme is targeted at the following groups of people:

  • Secondary school leavers who have attained the minimum qualifications for university admission and who wish to start a career in Management.
  • Individuals aspiring to progress in their workplaces.
  • Individuals desiring to gain in strong foundation in management.
  • Employees in Government and quasi-government and employees of international corporations and agencies.
  • Junior and middle managers of corporate businesses and organizations
  • to approval, be exempted from attendance of classes and examinations in those courses. Exemptions will apply to candidates in possession of specific professional qualifications, while for all other candidates, exemptions will be granted on a case by case basis.
  • No exemptions are available in respect of third and fourth year courses regardless of the candidate’s qualifications.

Each year of study will be divided into two semesters.  The course structure is as shown in Tables 1 to 4 below.
